Marcus' Story: Racism

Marcus' Story: Racism

As a young black man, Marcus knew the trauma of racism all too well. He had grown up being told to be careful around police officers, to keep his head down and his hands in sight. He had seen the looks of suspicion and fear in the eyes of white strangers, as if he was a threat simply because of the color of his skin.

Every day, Marcus walked through a world that was not built for him. A world that constantly reminded him of his otherness, his perceived danger. The trauma of racism was always there, lurking beneath the surface. He knew that he had to be vigilant, to always be on guard, because the consequences of not doing so could be deadly.

But despite the trauma, Marcus refused to let it define him. He continued to stand tall, to speak out against injustice, to demand better. He knew that the fight for racial justice was a long and difficult one, but he was determined to keep going, for himself and for future generations.

The trauma of racism was a heavy burden to bear, but Marcus refused to let it crush him. He knew that the only way to make a difference was to keep pushing forward, to keep fighting for a world that was just and equitable for all.
